Second Time Around Shop
The Second Time Around Shop is located in the basement of St. Luke’s Church. The shop is one of the primary activities of the churchwomen (and a few men and youths) and is aided by more than a few friends of St. Luke’s members as well.
Donations of clothing for the whole family, jewelry, household items, novels, cookbooks, children’s books, baby equipment, toys, collectibles and other small items are gratefully accepted from the parish, as well as from the community. Some 40+ volunteers staff the shop and work sorting, pricing, pressing, mending and selling your donations to customers from Montclair and surrounding communities. We offer half price sales once a month, and twice yearly vintage sales and $5/bag sales, which attract new customers and definitely increase profits.

Total Outreach grants of $15,100
All of this productive activity has allowed us to make a pledge to the St. Luke’s Vestry and contribute to special projects. In addition to the Outreach grants, we also contribute to the clothing needs of Seaman's Church Institute, North Porch Women & Infant's Center, Goodwill Rescue Mission, and Retired Peace Officer Charity.
We also try to meet the needs of individuals who seek out our pastor or Toni’s Kitchen personnel for help.
Volunteers Needed
There is always a desire for additional hands. We need people to work on a regular or substitute basis or to visit the shop and buy from us. Please call Ellen Meriney (973-239-0899) or Lois Lawrence (973-746-9557). Please join us in this fun and worthwhile activity. Meet new friends, renew old acquaintances and know that the work and time spent is really helping others and contributing to life here at St. Luke’s.
